Samsung Galaxy S4 mini reviewSamsung Galaxy S4 mini review

The Samsung Galaxy S4 mini, model number I9195, has a screen reportedly Super AMOLED with qHD resolution and 240ppi, which doesn’t match the rumored 4.3" screen diagonal, but it's not uncommon for an app to report the wrong pixel density (4.3" screen with qHD resolution should have 256ppi) , 8 megapixel camera and a 2.1MP front-facing camera., 1.7 GHz dual-core snapdragon 400 processor, Adreno 305 GPU, Android 4.2.2 and Samsung’s own Nature UX interface.

The phone runs Android 4.2.2 on a Snapdragon 400 chipset – dual-core Krait 200 at 1.7GHz, 1.5GB RAM and Adreno 305, the same chipset found in the Samsung Galaxy Mega 6.3. The available internal storage is listed as 5GB, so it should be 8GB in total.

Introduction

Nokia refined the design of the Lumia 920 flagship, but didn't fundamentally change it - the Lumia 925 is, in essence, the 920S. The number of changes might be small, but their magnitude isn't. With a better body, screen and software, the Nokia Lumia 925 is a more desirable device than its 920 sibling.

Nokia Lumia 925 features

:

  • General: GSM 850/900/1800/1900 MHz, UMTS 850/900/1900/2100 MHz or 580/900/1700/1900/2100; HSDPA 42.2 Mbps, HSUPA 5.76Mbps; LTE 800/900/1800/2100/2600 or 700/1700/2100; LTE Cat 3 100Mbps down, 50Mbps up
  • Form factor: Touchscreen bar
  • Dimensions: 129 x 70.6 x 8.5 mm, 78 cc; 139 g
  • Display: 4.5" 16M-color WXGA (768 x 1280 pixels) ClearBlack AMOLED capacitive touchscreen; Gorilla glass 2; Super sensitive touch
  • Chipset: 1.5GHz dual-core Krait processor, Adreno 225 GPU, 1GB of RAM
  • OS: Windows Phone 8
  • Memory: 16/32 GB of built-in storage
  • Camera: 8 megapixel auto-focus camera with Carl Zeiss lens, OIS, face and smile detection; 1080p video recording at 30fps; 1.3MP front-facing camera with 720p video
  • Connectivity: dual-band Wi-Fi a/b/g/n, stereo Bluetooth 3.0, standard microUSB port, GPS receiver with A-GPS and GLONASS, HERE Drive+ free worldwide navigation, 3.5mm audio jack, NFC
  • Misc: Exclusive Smart Camera app, FM Radio, built-in accelerometer, multi-touch input, proximity sensor
The changes will make their way to older Lumia phones with the Amber update, but the Nokia Lumia 925 is leading the way.
Smart Camera is a Lens add-on for the stock camera app, though it can fully replace it. You can even set it as the default camera app to launch by long pressing the shutter key. So what is Smart Camera? It's the result of the Scalado acquisition and offers features similar to HTC's Zoe. We'll review it in more detail later on in this article.
The camera itself is the same as what the Lumia 920 has, which is to say pretty good. It has a Carl Zeiss lens with f/2.0 aperture, an Optical Image Stabilization mechanism and a 1/3" image sensor of 8.7MP resolution.

Samsung integrated its Bada OS into the Tizen project a while ago, but we are yet see a smartphone running on the open source project. However, traces of a Samsung device running on Tizen was confirmed by a UAProf earlier and now, the images of the smartphone with Tizen 2.1 have surfaced online.

Images of Samsung Redwood with Tizen 2.1
The upcoming Tizen smartphone from Samsung has been codenamed "Redwood" and bears the GT-I8800 model name.
The design of the device looks quite similar to the company's own Galaxy smartphones. Samsung has obviously baked a few of its proprietary Android features into the Tizen OS such as S-Voice, Wi-Fi Direct and S-Beam.
The only thing we know about the Samsung I8800 Redwood is that it comes with a 720p display and runs the Tizen 2.1 OS.
The smartphone will be given away to some 500 developers, participating in the on-going Tizen Developer Conference for cross platform customizations.
So far we don't know whether that's actually a device that will be commercially available. It is possible that it only remains a developer's platform.

Two lucky XDA Developers Forum members ("challeen" and "innocent36") were at the right place at the right time (Thailand Mobile Expo 2013). They spotted a Google Nexus 4 on display, running Android 4.3 and decided to share their find with the eager tech-savvy world.
The customary Easter egg menu shows Android 4.3 Jelly Bean, which does confirm previous reports that v.4.3 will retain the name of its predecessor rather than being called Key Lime Pie.
The phone has a pre-release build (JWR45B) and a baseband string m9615a-cefwmazm-2.0.1700.74, which hasn't been used elsewhere before and will most likely be intended for GSM networks.
Although Google I/O 2013 spared us any details about next Android version to come, we know that it's already in testing on some devices, including the elusive white Nexus 4. We hope to see the new Android version on June 10, which happens to nicely coincide with Apple's unveiling of iOS 7.

The Amosu's BlackBerry Q10 is made up of 18 carat white gold and the smartphone is encrusted with over 700 VVSI diamonds, which amount to a total of approx. 4.7 carats.
The designer also offers a new pattern for the potential consumers of the phone, with a choice of 18 carat yellow, 18 carat rose, silver and platinum - all with matching set of colorful diamonds.
The luxurious BlackBerry Q10 is priced at £20,000 (about $30,250) and the exclusive design is available in limited quantity.
Furthermore, you can also get your name or your company's logo engraved on your show piece in solid 18 carat gold or have its back covered with crocodile skin.
Meanwhile, if you feel that the BlackBerry Q10 by Amosu is a bit out of your reach, you might be interested into a much cheaper Swarovski version by Amosu Couture, a sister company of the designer, that costs only £3,750 (about $5,671).

Introduction:-
Bigger than the Note but not as bright. Not saying anything. We wouldn't want to get this guy upset. So, careful with the F-word. And no, not phablet, obviously. Though at 8mm, the Samsung Galaxy Mega technically isn't fat.
There has been no such thing as size limit for Samsung but is the Galaxy Mega 6.3 already pushing it too far? The massive 6.3" screen puts the bigger one of the Mega brothers well into the upper range of phablets and almost into tablet territory.

Samsung Galaxy Mega 6.3 official images
The Samsung Galaxy Mega 6.3 - as in a 6.3" screen - is the bigger and better half of the Mega pair, making an interesting alternative to the Galaxy Note line of phablets. It's bigger than the first two (most likely bigger than even the Note III as well) but actually more affordable.
There were of course some inevitable cuts, mainly in the display and chipset area, but the Mega 6.3 still boasts LTE connectivity, Android 4.2.2 with exclusive TouchWiz features like Multi-window and Air View among other goodies the Galaxy S4 has, including the IR remote control functionality.

Samsung Galaxy Mega 6.3 at a glance:

  • General: Quad-band 2G/quad-band 3G/Optional LTE connectivity
  • Form factor: Touchscreen bar phone
  • Dimensions: 167.6 x 88 x 8mm, 199 g
  • Display: 6.3" 16M-color TFT capacitive touchscreen with a resolution of 720 x 1280 pixels (233ppi)
  • Chipset: Qualcomm Snapdragon 400, 1.7GHz Krait CPU, Adreno 305 GPU, 1.5GB RAM
  • OS: Android 4.2.2 (Jelly Bean)
  • Memory: 8/16GB storage, microSD card slot
  • Still camera: 8 megapixel auto-focus camera, face detection, touch focus and image stabilization; 1.9MP front facing camera, video-calls
  • Video camera: Full HD (1080p) video recording at 30fps
  • Connectivity: Wi-Fi a/b/g/n/ac, Wi-Fi hotspot, Bluetooth 4.0, standard microUSB port with MHL features (TV Out, USB host), GPS receiver with A-GPS and GLONASS, 3.5mm audio jack, NFC, Infrared port
  • Battery: 3,200 mAh
  • Misc: TouchWiz UI, Air View, Impressively rich video/audio codec support, built-in accelerometer, Smart stay and Smart rotation eye-tracking, S Health
While the screen is less than stellar, 233ppi is better than what the Galaxy Grand got and on par with the Galaxy S III mini. It's the chipset we're more worried about - it's a better version of the one Nokia uses in the Lumia 520. Sure, the CPU runs at a much higher clockspeed (70% higher) and there's three times the amount of RAM, but the Galaxy Mega 6.3 will have to really bring its A game to get anyone impressed.
